Hamlets just can't figure out what does the spirit that appears which is his father really trying to tell him.  So Hamlet decides to go and figure out what the spirit is trying to tell him. Then the gurads foolow him just to make sure he was going to be fine.

Hamlets state of mind is just like that because he believes that his fathers spirit came back was because of the foul deeds that others had. Also the fear that he had and danger of the disaster that was going to occur. He basically was wondering about the secrets that were going to occur in the future.

What Hamlets is believing is that his fathers prescenes to others is just somethings that going to occur with the outcome of the others with " Foul Deeds will rise ".
